No. They criticize* you for not doing the right thing for your body and mind to lose weight. They criticize you because no amount of bullying is worth seriously impacting your health. They criticize you because what you’re doing is so wrong for you, so dangerous and so hard to quit. So yeah, I guess they criticize you for starving - but only because starving is a terrible, terrible fucking life decision.

The thing is, starving yourself is often not a decision.  An eating disorder is just that - a disorder.  It’s psychological.  Telling someone that having an eating disorder is a “terrible fucking life decision” is like telling someone that being bipolar is a bad life decision, or being depressed is a bad life decision.  Girls and guys who starve themselves don’t want to starve themselves.  They want to be normal, and have happy lives, which an eating disorder often robs them of.  When you don’t eat enough, you alienate your friends, you don’t have energy, and you’re more likely to be emotionally volatile.  It’s not something you can control - an eating disorder gnaws at your brain and at your life, telling you that being thin is worth whatever price you have to pay later, when in reality, you know that it isn’t.  So please, don’t criticize someone for starving, and don’t say it’s a “terrible fucking life decision”.  Because it isn’t.
